Press Release: 17th San Francisco Arts Medallion Celebrating John Adams

The Board of the Museum of Performance + Design is pleased to announce that its 17th San Francisco Arts Medallion Reception and Ceremony honoring Pulitzer and Grammy award-winning composer, John Adams. The event will be held on Wednesday, February 07, 2024 at Saint Joseph’s Arts Society in San Francisco. 

The San Francisco Arts Medallion was created in 2005 by MP+D to recognize those individuals whose leadership, action, and generosity have benefited the cultural life of the Bay Area.

John Adams

With his unparalleled talent and unwavering commitment, Pulitzer and Grammy award-winning composer, conductor, author and mentor John Adams has profoundly impacted San Francisco's performing arts culture. Adams's collaborations with the San Francisco Symphony, where he served as its first Composer-in-Residence and wrote and premiered seven works, and the San Francisco Opera, which has commissioned and premiered four of his operas, have continually redefined artistic boundaries, infusing our city with a fresh and innovative artistic pulse.
