Preserved!

Coinciding with the completion of its year-long preservation access project More Life: Preserving San Francisco Bay Area Theater Recordings, funded by grants from the National Endowment for the Arts and the Gladys Krieble Delmas Foundation, MP+D opens its new exhibition Preserved!. The exhibition features photographs, programs, original designs, set models, and clips from several of the notable productions preserved through this video digitization project. Highlighted in the exhibition is the world premiere production of Eureka Theatre’s Angels in America: A Gay Fantasia on National Themes (1991), A.C.T. ‘s Ma Rainey’s Black Bottom (1987) featuring Charles S. Dutton, and Eureka Theatre’s 1977 production of Sizwe Bansi is Dead starring Danny Glover and Carl Lumbly.

The exhibition is open free to the public Tuesdays – Fridays from 1pm -6pm and the first Saturday of each month from 1pm – 5pm through November 27, 2019.
